The English artist Tim Walker, born in 1970 in Devon, is a fashion photographer who became known in the field on an international level through his perfectly staged photographs in the English, Italian and Japanese editions of Vogue. In addition, he photographed advertising campaigns for such fashion firms as Levi’s and Jigsaw. His photographs are more than slickly skillful studio works: his imagination conducts the motifs far beyond the standard of fashion photography. In a manner rich with fantasy, he combines breathtaking landscapes and interiors with models in what are for the most part "unwearable" and glamorous clothing. Tim Walker creates fascinating dream images in the framework of our contemporary world. The kestnergesellschaft is presenting the oeuvre of this photographer for the first time in an institution. Appearing parallel to the exhibition is a publication which presents his creative output up to the present in a comprehensive manner.
