Marcoville │The glass forest

Marcoville is not strictly speaking a glassworker, but rather a versatile sculptor who uses carved-out, incised and painted glass to create a poetic and dreamlike world abounding with schools of fish and baobab forests, peopled with undulating geishas and provocative « nanas » (women). His monumental and figurative installations, counter-current to prevailing contemporary art trends, pull the viewer into a whirlpool of feelings of tenderness, humour and joie de vivre that is simply breathtaking.

The Ariana Museum contains prestigious collections of ceramics and glass of the City of Geneva. It is the only museum in Switzerland, and among the most important in Europe, devoted entirely to kilncraft.
